When working in the Shortcuts tab in Windows Installer Editor, your desired working directory may not appear in the Working Dir drop down menu. To manually add your working dir, switch to the Setup Editor tab. Click on the Product tab, right-click on Properties, and select New Property. In the Name field, enter a unique name for the property. (i.e. Wrkdir). In the Value field, enter the new working directory (i.e. W:\Installs). Click OK. In Setup Editor, go to the Tables tab and click on Shortcut. In the Shortcut table, change the WrkDir field to the new Property you have created.
