Adobe Reader 9(PDF documents must always open with Reader.)

Hi

In our environment we have Adobe Reader 9 on all the systems. But there are some users who require the Adobe writer application. But still we need to ensure that the pdfs should open through Adobe Reader 9.

Please let us know how this can be done within the Adobe writer msi package.
Please let us know if there is any registry setting required for the same.

Thanks
Uday

It's no different to any other application. You need to stop the DDE verb 'Open' being associated with the Adobe "writer" (?) package. As usual, make the change via a transform, not by directly editing the MSI.

Yep. Using the Cust wiz, in the installation options tab/menu, you can choose to make the reader your default handler when writer & reader are installed. Option 3 in the Default viewer for PDF files section

I used the Adobe Customisation Wizard and created the transform. It worked.

Thanks a lot :)
