After un-Installaion registry keys remains like that in user mode.

I've an application and after uninsallation some HKCU registry keys remains like that. In admin all the keys are deleted.

Please let me know how to clean un-installaion. How to remove those keys in user mode too after un-installation.

Leave them if they are not giving any trouble..

  • If you go with ActiveSetup approach then you will have to implement the same for almost 8 out of 10 packages.. - jagadeish 11 years ago
  • As they are HKCU keys and so I created activesetup..
Do we have an option to remove them using activesetup again..
will this be a problem if we leave them as it is? - vinodreddy10 11 years ago
  • Why do you want to delete them.. are they giving any issues.. - jagadeish 11 years ago

It should be left in HKCU. There should not be any issue. The only issue comes if there is another application and you require different settings. Then it is better to change the keys than deleting them.

That's a good question. The only solution I can think of is Active Setup or writing a script to find the users' sid and deleting the entries recursively.
