Auto Assign a user to an asset

We started out using the k1000 for mostly software deployment. We are getting close to using the service desk, but we don't want to go through 800 assets and assign users to them. When we imported the users into kace we also added their samaccount name as one of the custom fields as that is also what shows as the "last logged in user" when looking in inventory.
Is there a way to match last logged in user to user accounts and then assign that user to the device?

If you are on a 7.x or 8.x SMA you could use the device assignment option in General Settings
Otherwise you will need to work out a ticket rule to copy the user into the asset record

So we have an issue with this, our k1000 usernames are their emails and their computer username is there samaccount. We did this to try and limit confusion on how to log in. Any tips on where to start with the sql we are trying to piece something together with no luck so far. We did change their ldap_uid field to their samaccount but were having issues updating asset information using this. - khoelle 6 years ago
