Change Scheduled Check-in Behavior to inventory only.

We use deep freeze to maintain multiple lab machines.  However due to the nature of the lab use the time that the machines can be thawed to apply updates changes each week.

Is it possible to change the regularly scheduled Agent Check-In to only do an inventory and not attempt to push software.  And that when I am ready to push updates/distributions to the machines I can run runkbot 6 0 locally as part of the thaw process.

There's not a way to set an agent to inventory only currently, but it's not a bad idea.  Submit it here as a feature request: http://kace.uservoice.com/forums/82699-k1000

You can change your communication window to mirror that of your thawed period, or you can adjust your agent run, inventory or scripting intervals to see if that helps.

Settings>K1000 Agent>K1000 Agent Settings

Or if you have organizations enabled:

System>Organizations>Your Organization>K1000 Agent Settings For This Organization

jknox is correct. In the mean time you could do the following.

1. not turn on any MI's until you are going to thaw our your systems

2. Set the open/close window on the MI to mirror your thaw time table. That why systems can still inventory but the MI won't push out until you enable it and the agents check in falls between your open and closed.

If there is a major concern you can just create scripts to do the isntallation as you have more control over them regarding schedules times. The same with patching.
