How to deploy Dell updates with Bitlocker enabled machines

Hello fellow ninjas,

I have a problem that recently pop up for us since we started deploying Bitlocker. Our users getting prompted for the full bitlocker key after a bios update. We currently have Dell bios and driver updates pushed out weekly from the Kbox. How can i suspend bitlocker temporarily before the bios updates? then we want it to resume on reboot. I am looking for real world examples and not links to the user guide. I am sure i am not the only one with this issue.

Thanks,
John

  • Did you find a solution?

I don't think that a process based on a scheduled script running and completing before a second unrelated scheduled Dell firmware update is a very robust method.

Is there no way to configure this in the Dell updates script? - Darkplace 9 years ago

There's a command line tool for controlling BitLocker. I can't recall its name but Mr G will find it for you. Use it to temporarily disable BL then resume it and boot-time.
