Pack is really a downloader for catalogs that are used by AutoCAD.It doesn’t actually integrate with AutoCAD
itself.
The provided app is an
InstallShield installer wrapped around an MSI.It should be possible to pass the MSI parameters on, and I succeeded on
the command line. But we use a VBS script wrapper and I could not get
the right sequence of quotes working, so extracted the MSI and used that instead.
Unattended install: "CAD Pack for AutoCAD.msi" /qb-! /L*v logfilename.log
Very Important: Per vendor support, this software must be installed by the user who will use it, and that user must have admin rights on the machine. If installed by another used (like say, SYSTEM), you'll see an error like this:
To resolve that error, uninstall CADpack; Their
instructions suggested to delete C:\Program Files (x86)\HMI\CADPack first but I
did not have to do that.
SCCM admins, note that to make it install under the user's credentials, it is not enough to login as the user and start the install from Software Center. You must change the installation behavior on the Deployment Type (User Experience tab) to "Install for user".
Setup Information:
Setup Type: Windows Installer (Delivered as an EXE)
Deployment Method Used: Repackaged (to a setup.msi)
