Acrobat reader 6.0.2 ce - Disable opening PDFs in a browser window
HI
As part of my Acrobat reader 6.0.2.ce MSI install I am trying to disable opening a pdf in an IE window when you click on it. I need the pdf to open in a new acrobat window. The registry key that changes when I change the setting in acrobat reader is
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\6.0\Originals\bBrowserCheck
If this is 0 then the open in a browser window is unchecked in acrobat
If this is 65536 then the open in a browser windows is check
Now if I put this key into my MST file set to 0 and install it, the setting is still switched on when I test opening a pdf, although in the acrobat reader prefs the box is not ticked. If I then enable the option in reader, click ok, then disable it and click ok the setting works. I must be missing something else that acrobat reader does when you untick this box.
Does anyone know the answer?
Thanks
