Adobe 8 Uninstall\Install over Adobe 8

Deploying Adobe 8 with some difficulties with uninstalling Adode 8. Meaning, we have a standard adobe 8 package for all. Would like to uninstall adobe 8 and install our standard package. I have tried msiexec /x with product ID with not much success in regards to the speed of the uninstall. It just takes to long. When I deploy Adobe 8 to a machine that has Adobe 8 it wants to repair it.....Question: is there a way to deploy and disable the repair option so that no matter what our standard Adobe 8 package is installed over whatever version of Adobe 8 the machine has?

I don't think so. That is the problem with MSI's they don't do an re-install...only repairs. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

LCPS,

What is your method of deployment?

What version of Adobe? Acrobat Reader? Acrobat Professional? Acrobat Standard? Acrobat Elements?

If you use Adobe Customization Wizard, there is a few checkboxes which might help you out;

[_] Remove Previous Version of Acrobat
Note: Removes any existing installation of Acrobat Professional, Standard, or Elements versions 6.0 or later during this install.

[_] Remove Previous Version of Reader
Note: Removes any existing installation of Acrobat Reader 6.0 or later during this install.
