Big Printer Problem
Hi there,
I work at a school in the uk with approx 500pcs. We have around 20 classrooms, each with its own colour and laser printers, connected directly to a pc.
We have just upgraded to xp, with 03 backplane. Where in 98, it was simply a case of installing the printer, sharing and installing on each machine, we are quite clueless on how to install the printers.
The problem is, user accounts are carrying printers with them, we just need it so when a student logs on in say room S24, he or she only has access to s24's printers.
Any ideas? Sorry for the long message but i thought id explain the whole situation

Well, here is the major issue, Windows XP Pro/2000 can only support 10 concurrent connections, so this will be a problem when installing a printer to share to 20 computers. My suggestion is to replace the printers with network capable printers, then install and share them via a IP port to the 2003 server. Now assign printers via login scripts, done.
