How to automate UPS WorldShip 9?

Has anyone had any luck automating the install of UPS WorldShip 9.0? It appears to be a custom installer made by UPS (ie not Installshield or Wise, etc.), and it doesn't appear to support any silent switches. It installs MSDE during the process and snapshot capturing doesn't work well. I tried Symantec Transcript Recorder to send keystrokes and mouse clicks, but it doesn't recognize the window (non-recordable).

Help, please....

Replaying keystrokes is doomed to failure, unless you know how to respond to every single dialog box which the installer might present: how will you handle one which says there's not enough disk space or that the user has no access rights, etc, etc?

No, the route to take is to persist with capturing. MSDE is available as a separate MSI so why not install that first before capturing? Surely the UPS installer isn't dumb enough to overwrite an existing install? In your custom installer, you can then execute the MSDE MSI as a separate process (or use Group Policy, or whatever your distro mechanism is)

Of course, the vendor should be pursued also to provide a corporate distro-friendly installer...why not offer them yours for a fee once you're done?
