Office 2000 Feature Install based on Condition

Hi all,

need a little help using Installshield to do the following:

Need to install Office 2000 Standard on PC's. Have created MST that allows for installation of Word,Excel, PPT.
Thats all good !
But a licensing issue has arisen where we need to not install Powerpoint if a particular file exists on the PC.
So what is the easiest way to achieve this by modifying my existing MST that was created using the MS Custom Installation Wizard?

These are my thoughts which havnt worked so far:
- create a Property called "FILEEXIST" in property manager
- create a System Search for C:\file.txt and store in property "FILEEXIST"
- go to Features and under feature "PPTFiles" add a condition somehow that does not install PowerPoint if property "FILEEXISTS" = true.

Am I on the right track or have I got it all wrong.

Thanks in advance

Hi TrevorSmith,

Your logic is right, just put the First action condition on ExecSequence in your PROPERTY.

Hope this helps =)

Thanks knight,

Although my logic may be right, I can not get it to work. Can someone pls step me through all this in a little more detail.
I must be doing something wrong. Or is there a simpler way to achieve this.

Thanks again
