Outlook 2003 GPO install error

i have completed a outlook 2003 MST. Added the MSI and MST into a GPO and have successfully installed the package on multiple 2000 computers... now the however, some devices have not been able to complete the user interface with the following error:

The connection to the Microsoft Exchange Server is unavailable

When verifying the downloaded setting in Conttrol Panel the same information is displayed. When vaildating the setting the server's name is correct, my admin account is correct and yet I am unable to [Check Name]!

Nothig appears wrong on any Event Viewer. The computer is able to ping the server and telent to port 25, so IP communications seems fine.

Hi Cahillrobert,

When you say you are unable to [check name] do you mean the option just isnt there or that it is greyed out or just does nothing?

I have seen issues with the Check Name after damage to RPC service of Windows 2000 due to virus's which and it affected the name to account resolution in Outlook to the Excahnge server.

Check to see if any of the following entire are missing for the below key and replace if they are:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\RPC\ClientProtocols
ncacn_http
ncacn_ip_tcp
ncacn_nb_tcp
ncacn_np
ncadg_ip_udp

also check to see that the RPC service is tunning on the problem workstations.

All i can suggest so far.

Cheers!
