script to change the BIOS password

Hi Team,

we are planning to distribute the BIOS updates through SCCM.But there is a password setup in BIOS.So we need to reset the password to blank, install the update, restart the machine and then put the default password back.

Can we achieve this through a script..?

regards

Hi Team,

We were able to accomplish it using the DCCU (Dell Client Configuration Utility ) tool . This tool will embedd the password along with the BIOS update and create another exe file.Just call this exe through a script and deploy.

While deploying we faced another issue...Although the application is showing successful in SCCM, BIOS was not getting updated..
Later we found that the resultant exe was extracting some files to the same folder where the exe is placed(in the SCCM server). This is not supported in SCCM...So we have to select the option "Download and Run" in the SCCM for this package..that did the trick...
