Note
Extract the content of setpoint620.exe. In the extracted $[61] folder you have the Setup.exe to use and a setup.ini to edit. You can move this content to the extracted $_OUTDIR folder and you will have all files needed in one place.

Edit the setup.ini. Below is my changes:

Then execute the line Setup.exe /s for a silent install.
"%CommonProgramFiles%\LogiShrd\sp6_Uninstall\setup.exe" /S can be used for a silent uninstall.

The uninstall will leave some folder and files in %CommonProgramFiles%\LogiShrd. Easily removed with a script executed after uninstall is finished.

Command Line

To silently uninstall this product, I tried calling the executable referenced in its UninstallString at:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\sp6

This turned out to only remove a few files and left the program listed in the Programs and Features control panel.

Using a (possibly now-defunct) tool called InstallWatch, I manually uninstalled the product through the control panel and let InstallWatch tell me what changed.  It saw two INI files created and deleted which contained the following command lines:

 

"C:\Program Files\Common Files\LogiShrd\sp6\UnInstaller.exe" /s /uninstall=yes

"C:\Program Files\Common Files\LogiShrd\sp6_Uninstall\MUnInstaller.exe" /s /uninstall=yes    

Calling these two commands uninstalled the product, but left behind a Start Menu folder and shortcut, and a file inside C:\Program Files\Common Files\LogiShrd\.

I added code to my deployment script to delete the Start Menu folder and Common Files folder.  This resulted in as clean an uninstall as I think is possible.

  • Just add this before your other two uninstall commands and you wont need to clean up the start menu folders: "C:\Program Files\Common Files\LogiShrd\Unifying\UnifyingUnInstaller.exe" /S - bostock 6 years ago

I used Wise Package Studio to create a capture of the installation and configuration. Made a general cleanup of the capture and did the following.

1. Created a new feature called Drivers

2. Created a new feature called CurrentUser and made this the parent of all the other features.

3. Attatched all components that were writing files into the users %AppData% and all the components adding registry entries to HKEY_Curret_User to the "CurrentUser" feature. (this to minimize SelfRepair time during first launch per user)

4. Added the following MergeModules: Microsoft_VC90_ATL_x86.msm, Microsoft_VC90_MFCLOC_x86.msm, Microsoft_VC90_MFC_x86.msm, Microsoft_VC90_CRT_x86.msm and DIFxApp.msm (version 2.1).

5. Isolated all 10 drivers and added them to each uniqe component with its .inf file set to key file and attatched them to the Drivers Feature.

6. Added each uniqe Driver component to the "MsiDriverPackages" table and set their flags to 6. (Random sequence as it dosent mater what driver is installed first)

PS: SetPoint 6.x downloads images of the connected mouse/keyboard, which are used during configuration. This process is only doable if the user is Administrator and if automatic update is enabled. While Automatic update is disabled, it means that Setpoint 6.x uses a generic mouse/keyboard image instead.
