Endeavors Technology today announces the worldwide rollout of Autodesk's AutoCAD 2005 on-demand trialware program. Effective today, potential customers can log on to servers of Autodesk subsidiaries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa and receive full versions of AutoCAD 2005 trialware to their desktops powered by Endeavors Technology's AppExpress on-demand delivery technology.
AutoCAD has been successfully streamed to tens of thousands of new users in the past year in the U.S. There are approximately one million existing AutoCAD users in Europe, but the number of people potentially interested in looking at AutoCAD is expected to be larger than the actual number of registered users.
Autodesk's strategic move to globalize its customer's experiences of AutoCAD 2005 trialware follows the software company's successful implementation of the program using AppExpress on-demand technology for its new business process in North American markets. Since selecting AppExpress as its optimum delivery mechanism some two years ago, it has seen increased sales, improved margins, shortened sales cycles for products such as AutoCAD(R) 2002, Revit(R), and Discreet(R)'s 3ds max(R), and lowered associated launch costs compared with previous roll-out methodology.
With additional servers throughout Europe and parts of the Middle East and Africa, Autodesk's international engineering communities will now also experience the full richness of AutoCAD 2005 in the shortest timeframe and be provided local language support.
"Endeavors' AppExpress on-demand technology is the delivery backbone of Autodesk's new trialware business process in North America and now across the globe," says John Goodman, sales and marketing execution manager for Autodesk's EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) Platform Technology Division. "It gets Autodesk's latest products in front of the customer faster, cuts the cost of getting there, and provides users all the functionality of our rich solutions."
AppExpress is proving a sound and repeatable business model for independent software vendors looking for a piracy-free, trackable solution of putting full product software in the hands of prospects in the shortest timeframe. It reduces evaluation software costs by eliminating the process of burning and shipping trialware CD-ROMs to customers. Autodesk has estimated savings of up to $10 per unit by cutting this medium out of its business process.
AppExpress is certified for Microsoft(R) Windows(R) Server 2003 Standard, Enterprise, and Datacenter Editions. Endeavors Technology is a Gold Certified Partner of Microsoft. More at www.endeavors.com.
