Hello All,
I am just writing this to inform you all of an interesting issue that occured when trying to image a M3800 using KACE K2000 and the driver feed.
The model in the BIOS is wrong, and it reads “ision M3800”. When KACE looks at the model in the BIOS, it compares what it finds with its driver feed. Since “ision m3800” and “M3800” do not match, KACE just gives up and doesn’t install any drivers.
I had to create a folder in the dell section of the post-install K2000 share with the title of 'ision m3800' for it to work.
Just a heads up,
Tyler
Many thanks for sharing your solution! I spent a considerable amount of time struggling with this problem before finding your post, which solved my issue. My M3800 has BIOS version A02 and the model shown in the BIOS is “Dell Precision M3800”, nevertheless after duplicating the “m3800” directory in the drivers_postinstall samba share, renaming it to “ision m3800”, and recaching the drivers, deploying an image to the M3800 succeeded.
Cheers,
