Packaging EMC Avamar for Windows 6.0.100.592

Win 7 OS:

 

Packaging Step1 :

Use Installshield "Tuner" to create mst for "AvamarClient-windows-x86_64-6.0.100-592.msi"

 

Step2: Automate EMC Avamar Client activation:

Once the application is installed navigate to C:\Program files\Avs\bin folder and copy the "avregister.bat" file.

Under avregister.bat edit the lines that reference “avagent” and change it to include the full path: “C:\Program Files\avs\bin\avagent.exe”

Use below switch to activate the client. MCS-name is server name & Domain is given domain name

"avregister.bat" MCS-NAME DOMAIN

  • The MSI can be used to add clients to specific domains and groups.
