ManageSoft Corporation, a world leader in software configuration management solutions, has combined with leading Australian infrastructure and services company, Volante Systems to provide consulting and release management software to the Royal Automobile Club of Victoria (RACV).
ManageSoft and Volante will provide RACV with a process-based solution built around the industry's best practice IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) guidelines and policy-based management button Microsoft Active Directory. This fully integrated solution will enable RACV to automatically deploy, update and manage software on 1,320 desktops, servers and mobile devices throughout the organisation.
According to Charles Burgess, General Manager IT&T at RACV, the organisation will make substantial savings by taking its IT in-house and selectively outsourcing components like its Wide Area Network (WAN). ManageSoft is delivering an important part of RACV's overall project, which is revitalising its total approach to IT services.
"ManageSoft's mobile and remote systems management capabilities will enhance our control and management of software and hardware assets and enable us to respond to changes in real-time. This is important to us as we have offices all over Victoria, some in more remote places than others," Mr Burgess said.
With ManageSoft, RACV will be able to maintain software more efficiently across some of its business-critical applications such as email and corporate programs. RACV will also be able to increase efficiency rates across its mobile resources and track change activity across devices.
The ITIL best practice approach will give RACV a full view of its 'live' IT environment, provide efficient tracking of IT incidents, and allow IT administrators to quickly address problem and change management requirements.
"We aim to provide an enterprise management solution to the organisation, which will create a robust, flexible and secure IT infrastructure," said David Thomas, Asia Pacific Regional Manager, ManageSoft.
"RACV will also be able to better oversee and manage its software assets and keep on top of things such as renewal and reallocation of software licences. This will ultimately help RACV to increase its productivity and enhance its customer service," Mr Thomas said.
ManageSoft is currently being rolled out by Volante across all of RACV's systems.
