The world's fastest growing software configuration management vendor — Boston-based ManageSoft Corporation, today announced plans for expansion into Asia.
Riding the wave of increasing global demand for enterprise system software management solutions — which saw ManageSoft achieve license revenue growth of 143 percent last year, and spurred by its recent selection as a worldwide HP OpenView Solution Alliance Partner, ManageSoft plans to build on its market success in the US, Europe, Australia, and Latin America by setting its sights on Asia.
ManageSoft CEO, Walter Elliot, believes the market is ripe for software management solutions.
"The software management market in Asia is in its infancy but with many large businesses scaling back their IT expenditure and looking do things smarter with their existing IT resource base, we expect escalating demand for solutions that can improve user productivity and demonstrate a lowering of direct and indirect software ownership costs."
"The countries we'll be focussing on first include Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Thailand — the combined projected revenue from which we believe could parallel that of our Australian operations in the next few years," Elliott said.
ManageSoft will be one of the first specialist software management vendors to market in Asia, which Elliott believes will allow them to become the dominant player.
"We're finding a need to educate the market — particularly in Thailand and Malaysia, but the response from prospective customers, which include some of the large local banks, financial and educational institutions and telecommunications companies, has been overwhelmingly positive," he said.
"We have just signed an agreement with Malaysian reseller SCS Computer Systems to work with us to market ManageSoft and secure new deals in Malaysia. We are also in discussions with several other resellers across Asia and hope to sign an additional two-three distributors very soon."
The focus on Asia builds on ManageSoft's rapid worldwide expansion in 2002, which included developing a presence in Scandinavian and Southern European countries and the opening of corporate offices in Latin America (in Rio de Janeiro). ManageSoft has also developed an active Latin America reseller network, including partnerships with local systems integration companies such as Extend Software, and Grupo TMS in Brazil, Comsoft in Argentina, and GT Computadoras, Softrends, and Kranon in Mexico. In Australia, the company also signed reseller agreements with leading systems integration companies Dimension Data and Kinetica.
The company's ongoing global expansion and sales success has been accelerated with a number of key announcements including the opening of an office in Chicago to expand the company's US presence and service a growing list of major US customers.
