Active setup trick for HKCU when no shortcut

Hi all,

Sometimes I use the Active Setup trick to update HKCU keys when there is no shortcut for the application. Thie guide: http://www.symantec.com/community/article/2514/a-guide-to-msi-healing

I am just wondering, is there anyting we can do to trigger the Active setup at the end of the sequence when a new user is created and logging in for the first time? I would like to make sure that the Active Setup for mt application will launch after IE is fully configured when a new user is logging in for the first time.

Thanks,

Hmmm...tricky....

Maybe......organise the relevant entries into alphabetical order? I *believe* the engine treats curly bracket as being before numbers and letters (quite why, I have no idea, since according to their ASCII values they're not...), hence the order below:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components\[IE_GUID]
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components\ZZZZZ[GUID_Of_Your_Package]

Thks,
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
