ActiveSync 3.7.1, silent, repackaged, group policy....
hi
I am trying to deploy activesync 3.7.1 through Group Policy.
1) Tried to repackaged the software, but I don't like that specially if there are drivers in the setup routine.
2) moved to silent installation with a silent.ini file. Putted that into a script and that together as a customaction in an msi package. The MSI is only needed for the deployment via GPO.
Problem:
If I run my package manually, it is working perfectly. If I installed it via GPO, i always get an error which is generated by my installationscript (VBS) --> returncode is 1 (Incorrect function).
I launch the setup via shell.run, then lookend for the processes generated. Also tried to launch the setup with the wmi process create method, looking for the pid and waiting till all the processes are finished.
As I say, running the MSI "manually" doesn't cause any problem.
Does anyone has an idea how I could manage to deploy the software?
Repackaging would be ok but the drivers......
thx
Olivier
