Software Deployment

Has anyone encountered an "install interrupted" message and install failure when trying to install activesync 4.1 on a XP media center 2002 sp2 os? I have tried nearly everything to get this program to install on this system to no avail. Things I have tried: Downloaded beta version, install disc, microsoft site download, safe model install, etc. same result. I am trying to set up my new Dell Axim x51v pda. Nice equipment but at little P'd at the moment.
