Adding a file to a vendor supplied MSI
Hi,
I have an MSI supplied by the vendor, I need to add a file to it. Is it possible to do it with a transform, or do I just edit the MSI directly?
If it's possible to do it either way, is there a particular preference?

You could do it either way, but a Transform is definitely the "preferred" method. This way any patches or upgrades that come later from the vendor will not be subject to problems that may come with your changes. If you are using Wise Package Studio or AdminStudio, the process is just as easy as editing the MSI directly.
