Autodesk 3Dstudio Max 2013- error 1402

This is deploying the Autodesk Entertainment Creation Suite Ultimate 2013, which includes Maya and 3Dstudio Max 2013.

When deploying the suite using the supplied sms scripts, 3DStudio Max would error out in Altiris. Everything else runs fine. I have modified the rights to the registry, changed the credentials for deployment, always gets this error.

THe only time the product installs successfully is when someone is logged in to the machine.

Product: Autodesk 3ds Max 2013 32-bit -- Error 1402. Could not open key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Autodesk\3dsMax\15.0\\CadManagerControl\SubscriptionCenter.  System error 87.  Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.

Only installed on Macs, but it sounds like the installer needs the presence of the HKCU or local user app directories to install.

Did find this in the Prerequisites

Before an end-user with restricted Windows® operating system privileges can use Autodesk 3ds Max 2013 / Autodesk 3ds Max Design 2013, an administrator, with full privileges, must install and start the software one time in order to generate the Windows operating system registry information needed to complete the installation.

Before an end-user with restricted privileges can use third-party plug-ins for Autodesk 3ds Max 2013 / Autodesk 3ds Max Design 2013, an administrator, with full privileges, must install and start 3ds Max

2013 / 3ds Max Design 2013 one time in order to generate the necessary folders for these third-party plug-ins.

  • How can that be the solution if the product offers a deployment manager and SCCM config command lines? - Timanator 12 years ago
