You don't.

If Dell have released a BIOS update then it will be on their website or provided through support, it may be provided in a format that can be run from within Windows for easier deployment.

Unless I've got the wrong end of the stick here, I think you're asking for something that is something that only the vendor will supply.

Have I missed something? What's this got to do with a Dell BIOS update?

Anyway - The Wasp Factory by Iain Banks [:D]

Hi Al,

Welcome to this hi-jacked thread :)

You'll have to come round soon - I know we keep saying it - but when the baby's here I think my time will be limited somewhat [sm=rolleyes.gif]

Later,

Paul

If we're going onto Roger Hargreaves - John Mouse Goes to Wormland (1973)

If only we had a place on the boards for these off-topic discussions [;)]

Yeah - like an Off-Topic subforum - maybe we should ask Bob for one [:D]

Isn't it funny how sarcasm is lost sometimes when written down - Thanks anyway Rheuvel.

For the Dell machines there is a utility called Dell Client Configuration Utility (By Alteris) which can be used to create the changes in the BIOS and make an executable out of it. That executable can be run from ghost. Using this utility any setting inside the BIOS can be changed.

This Utility can be downloaded from

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?releaseid=R200703&deviceid=19801&fileid=278576

sarcasm is lost sometimes when written downI responded yesterday on the Wise Packaging forum on Symantec's Connect to a post by EdT asking him if the [SARCASM] tag wasn't working and I think I've used similar here before and will again.
