CA Condition - NOT PATCH

Hey guys,
Can someone help me by explaining the custom action condition : NOT PATCH.
I can make out the meaning of other CA conditions but this one really doesnt make any sense to me. I just wanna know when n where this is to be used.
Thanks.

I would guess that the action will not run when the application is patched via an MSP.

Thanks for tat Paul.. i guess u r right.. I have been thinking that the patch runs as an separete install ; completely independent of the MSI.. i just did some research and found that all the actions in the MSI(turning out to be true) also runs when the patch is installed.. Someone can correct me if i am wrong in it...
Thanks again.

When a patch is installed to an already installed MSI the MSI will be re-installed with the embedded transform(s) stored in the MSP.
So the MSI will have to be accessable during this task.
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
so that the conversation will remain readable.
