Can this site support chat?
Greetings!
I know this is a bit off topic, but as I get EXCELLENT tips and hints in here, and also as I look at the advanced MessageBoard features offered by this site, I wonder:
Can www.appdeploy.com support chat? It would be AWESOME to be able to log in and ask questions or give answers in real-time...
It would have to be a port-80 chat, though, because most of us are probably behind draconian firewalls.
Respectfully,
- Sean

Thanks for the URL.
Unfortunately, I'm not getting any error messages at all - I'm just getting a grey square in the place where the chat java applet shold be running.
I went to the Sun-Microsystems site and downloaded the lastest JRE...
...and now I can at least see an error in the status bar of the browser saying "Java applet failed to load"
That's why I think it's something in my current client's corporate firewall that is disallowing this applet to run.
Please note: despite my current inability to run the chat applet, I REALLY do appreciate the responsiveness and support of my questions about chat.
I'll try to use the chat applet from home/hotel and see if I have issues there.
Kind regards,
- Sean

Still, that is a bummer. The authors of the chat software I'm using also have a forum that could be of help: http://support.raidersoft.com/forums/
One other possibilty is that you may be able to access the chat room directly (not through AppDeploy.com) here: http://client1.sigmachat.com/sc.pl?id=72394
Good luck!

OK...
After having installed the JRE from Sun, I ran the "console" while trying to launch AppDeploy chat... and I saw the "magic number" error.
The solution to this from the URL you posted was to clear all cached files and close all instances of my browser. Unfortunately, this failed to solve my inability to launch chat.
As bkelly said, "bummer!" :(
