Changing default path in AOL Instant Messenger
Hi,
I have ran the install_aim.exe program and saved the temp folder created from the temp folder.
There is a certain file called setup.ini which has these entries
============
[MAIN]
InstDir=C:\Program Files\AIM
FILE_1=progupd.dll
FILE_2=AOLFirewallMgr.dll
=================
However, when I change this to InstDir=C:\Program Files\AIM75, the setup.exe is not reading it and instead resetting it back. The program does not offer any other option to change the install folder. The program does install well from the temp folder.
Can I move the files to C:\Program Files\AIM75 and change entries in the registry (The program also uses .xml files to store settings)? I think it is a bit risky as I cannot test the installation fully.
Does anyone have an idea how to make a silent/repacked install with folder changed? Can I change the path in this image? http://i.imgur.com/LPlz4.jpg
TIA
