Software Deployment

is there a way that I can retrieve the local connections on my pc after i have installed cisco VPN. The scenario is that when ever cisco is installed, the it drops the local connections. It only happens when the msi is run, not when the original exe file is run so apparently there is something I am doing wrong. I have looked in the components/property manager section but yet to see why it drops it. I am using Installsheild for packaging.
