Creating Template.ini file for silent upgrade of SQL 2005 Express
We're trying to get our clients to upgrade from MSDE 2000 to SQL 2005 Express silently without them having to do anything. We're getting stuck because the instilation keeps failing saying it can't login as administrator. We have disabled the administrator account in MSDE as we don't want our clients to have acsess to the database and the built in administrator account was posing a security threat. As a result we're specifying the SQL authentication information through the use of the template file. If we go through the install manually it runs fine. We've provided all the correct login information in the template file (shown below) but it still fails trying to login as administrator. I know we're missing something in the template file here but i can't find anything online about it and we've all gone through it about 5 times.... I know it's gonna end up being something stupid though... [:@]

RSUPGRADEPASSWORD=*****
SQLACCOUNT=sa
SQLPASSWORD=*****
SQLAUTOSTART=1
SECURITYMODE=SQL
SAPWD=*****
