Custom Action for closing the application

I need to close the application If it is running before i install the upgraded version version of the same application >please give me the script to perform this action

In the Wisescript templates there is an "Application Kill.wse" file that you can use the kill the task.. (if you've got the the Pro version)
Alternatively if running WINXP run TASKKILL.EXE in Windows\system32 with the appropriate switches.

Are you looking only for an app that might be running or for an app that is already installed?
If you are looking for an app that is installed then grab its GUID and add it as an Upgrade option.
If you are looking to remove it and make sure its not running then use Application Kill.wse to kill it and then remove it safely. If it installed a SERVICE you must stop and remove the service as well.
