dell latitude 5430-5440 pxe boot error

Hi

I have some models of dells lattitude 5430-5440 that boot to kace with the onborad nic, I'm able to choose the remote site server, loads the kace environment before i can select the images. Gives me a error "can't ping appliance"

but if i use a usb network dongle I have no problems imaging.

I rebuild the windows PE environment, made sure the drivers for the 5440 and 5430 are in the drivers , recache the SDA with the latest drivers.

any ideas would help.

thanks

Hi, it sounds like the drivers are not working properly. I would try creating a tailor KBE, one at a time, so I'd start with the 5440, grabbing the entire driver post install pack for this model from the Dell websited, then creating a KBE with the chipset, network and storage and see if that helps. That process is better described here: https://www.itninja.com/blog/view/how-to-create-a-kbe-with-custom-drivers-or-tailored-kbe

If after that you still have problems, you may get in touch with support at https://support.quest.com/contact-support

Hope this information helps. Regards!
