Deploying MSI via Managed Installation - KACE

Hi Team,

I have an MSI file that is deploying locally with the trigger "msiexec /i FOCUS.msi /quiet" (neglecting speech marks)

However when I place this in KACE as a managed installation it is bringing up a window with a set of triggers (meaning the triggers were incorrect)

I have several other MSIs setup as managed installations with this same trigger but it seems only this one is having an issue when being deployed.

Any ideas?

It's odd that your switches are different when run from the K1000. What is the exact program you are trying install?  Perhaps it has a non-standard set of switches.

Deploying from the K1000 is virtually the same as installing from the command line.  The difference is that a managed install will run under the LocalSystem account.

You can test if that is an issue by running the install like this:  http://www.kace.com/support/resources/kb/article/how-to-mimic-running-a-script-as-local-system-user-scripting

If you need admin rights or to install as a user, you would have to switch to an online kscript.

Found the issue, I had a typo but it seemed KACE had no quite realised the installation command had changed so I gave it a kick in the pants and now it is deploying correctly.

Cheers
