Error 1406
hi all,[/align]When i tried to install my package, i get this installation error, Error 1406 Could not write value to key \SOFTWARE. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.[/align]i searched thru the forum for relevent details but i cudnt find any proper resolution in all those posts.. Can somebody help me in this..[/align]

(sigh...) Run a process/registry monitor as well as a verbose log as you install.
Either the account you're using has insufficent rights to create registry keys (P R E T T Y much what the message is telling you) or the registry entry is plain wrong. The combination of the two will tell what key the MSI is trying to write and in which hive and the monitor will show you exactly what error is being returned (almost certainly, it's error 5 - "Access Denied").

ORIGINAL: reds4eva!?! More by accident than design, I'm sure, the error message itself actually clearly states the problem. Also, AppDeploy has a topic at the top of this forum which lists all the WI errors, so quite what this link adds is a mystery. Thanks, anyway!
