exe procedure

Hi Folks
I want to deploy a unattended install of a exe and I follow this procedure. I must be doing something wrong coz in my mind it sounds very simple. I use WPS 5.1.
1. I copy the files I want to install, locally using Installation Expert.
2. I then use WiseScript to create a "Execute Program from Installed Files". with the correct switches. Is this all i need to do?
Pls no laughing, I tried reading the manual, but they refer to Custom Action Tables, Types etc. And if I do it, I never look at that.

Thanks Carlo

Sounds about right. The action should be in the Execute Deferred or Execute Immediate sequences but only after the InstallFiles action otherwise there will be nothing to run. I usually place my stuff before InstallFinalize to ensure most of the important stuff ran.

Doh! The Execute Program from Installed Files action must occur after InstallFinalize action except in the Execute Deferred sequence. You can then get away with putting the Execute Program from Installed Files action after the InstallFiles action.

Hey gents, my error was not setting the installed files as Execute Immediate. I had it as User Interface. Phew!
Another one off the list of the unknown....[:-]
