Feature migration request

On my IE8 instance at home, for posting new posts and replying to existing posts, I get a slightly different interface to the one I get with IE6 (at my current client site - don't ask...) and with FireFox (both locations). The stand-out difference is in the "toolbar" where IE6/FF display, for example, a button marked '<%' whereas IE8 displays it marked 'code'.

Any chance that FF could be accomodated? From my reading of the ASPPlayground FAQs, it involves a tweak of the CSS theme files...

It sounds like you are looking to have the code button in IE8 to be labeled "<%". Maybe I'm not understanding. Is there some reason it causes a problem as it is?

LOL, the exact opposite, Bob :)

For the 'Reply to Message' window, in IE the 'code' button says exactly that but in FireFox - and I suspect other non-IE browsers - it shows the old icon '<%'. In fact, the 'Message' toolbars are swapped over. FF shows Font face, Size, code and quote buttons on top toolbar row, whereas IE has Font face, Font size, help and Quote original on the bottom toolbar row) and some button rearrangement. The overall font for the window is different, too: much cleaner in IE.

As I mentioned, from what I read in an ASP Playground forum post, it's a simple change in one of the CSS files.

I'm not finding this in the CSS. Would you happen to have a link to that article?

Oh, Bob, this was ages ago that I saw it. I can't remember, plus the ASPPlayground forum itself has switched to v3 and archived a heap of messages, making it even harder.

I *can* see that a different stylesheet is loaded inIE. In IE8, if you press F12 whilst on the main 'AppDeply Forums' page, you get a kind of debug view. In the 'HTML' view, you can see the line<link href="../css/ie.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css"/>The same page viewed in the Firefox equivalent, FireBug, that line is absent. You can also see the order of attributes in the HTML itself is different. All in all, it looks - at a cursory glance - to involve more than a single CSS tweak! I'll keep digging, though.
Rating comments in this legacy AppDeploy message board thread won't reorder them,
so that the conversation will remain readable.
