>NET Framework Uninstall Issue
Hi I created the .Net Framework windows installer package .It installs fine on the Endpoint but during the uninstall(through the BMC CM Console) it throws the following error : 1. Failed to initilize the sum.exe properly(Found in the BMC Inventory Service channel file on the EndPoint)
- Explorer.exe had to be stopped. So had to click on "End Now" Button so that uninstall had to work.
- After uninstallation it gave an error ----->failed to initialize .Net because windows is shutting down.

Hi
I did not create a MST but packaged it as a Windows Installer package on the BMC Application Packager.
I observed certain things while the uninstallation but before that would want to tell you I stopped the Inventory service on the BMC Console and it did not give me the sum.exe error this time. Observation: It did not give me any error this time but after the system restarted, it gave me a Blue screen and stayed there for more than 5 minutes, so had to reboot the machine again.I was able to see the logon window after that?Is it something alarming?

I guess you mean that you extracted the MSI from the EXE wrapper and then worked it out with BMC's "packaging" process while importing it, right?
BMC does some stupid things to separate the package "data" into different folders, don't know why they do this in the background.
Please post your exact steps.

Hi
I extracted the MSI from the EXE Wrapper and created the Windows Installer Package.Installation went fine but Uninstall gave me a lotta errors as stated above.
sum.exe runs as a process for the scanner or the Inventory service on the PC.Since it was not required at that time,I stopped the Inventory service from the BMC Console which did not give me any error.BUT while the system rebooted(REBOOT=Force),it gave me a BLUE screen and stayed there for a long time, which triggered me to do a Hard Reboot this time.
After that was done,it gave me a normal Ctrl+Alt+Del screen to log on.
I also checked one strange thing, whenever I install any other package or uninstall it,it takes the Internet Proxy settings off.Do you think .Net has messed with something?

Starr,
Can you try to do the same thing but without your deployment tool? Just log on to a machine, install your MSI (with your MST if you have one) and then remove to see if you get the same issue. It would probably help you determine if the issue is with your MSI or how the MSI interacts with your deployment tool (I'm not familiar with BMC)
