what do you mean by 'provided with msi'?
is it a vendor msi you're trying to customize? Are you having specific problems?

ya one msi is given but i think that is not a vendor msi. how we come to know that its a vendor msi? - shilesh1982 12 years ago

A vendor msi will generally have multiple features, lot of custom actions, best practices like component rules may not have been followed & definitely ur client/company standards will not be present. - hrs2cool 12 years ago

If its a vendor msi provided , then create a transform. Apply your/client standards. Add any customizations mentioned. CHeck for regular best practices like Disabling updates,pop-ups etc. Ensure it installs silently. Ensure the app works in restricted user as the source works in Admin mode. No devaition from the source functionality etc.
