Can you please tell me how to repackage an ".exe application" into a msi file using installshield?

I'm a new user of this software,i only know how to create a transforms,but i'm facing difficulties because my boss has asked me to repackage an .exe application called MIR'AJ using installshields.I don't know which options in the installshields software i have to choose to get the repackaging options.The application is a client-server application.

May i know , by client server, what actually are you specifying. Is it something like a network based application wherein half of the application resides on network drive and half on local machine?

first click the start button and click all programs and then select admin std tools then select repackager default u select yes and ok  then click continue to evaluate admin std and next then select capture an installation then again select continue to evaluate admin std and next

and select next then select snapshot next singe step next browse the file and write the application details  and next &start and yes

  • Thanks for your answer,now i know how to repackage an application;i'm facing another diffulty.The application that i have to repackage must give opportunuty to users to get a macro file open on microsft outlook.I manually installed this macro before starting the second snapshot, but when i get my msi, i open office but my macro has not been added in microsoft outlook,do you please have any idea of how to solve this problem? - FK 11 years ago
