How can flash updates be deployed?

What is the best method to keep Flash updated on clients?

We patch regular patches once per month so everyone knows when to reboot. But we need to keep Flash updated more frequently. ActiveX and the Plugin.

If possible, I'd like a label that grabs the current Flash patches and links to a daily schedule to deploy updates only to those who need it. So I built a label to grab Flash patches and created a daily schedule for deployment to some lab machines, but so far, it's not deploying. The label below has 390 patches in it covering various versions of Flash and it did return the current available Flash version -- 18.0.0.203.

SMART LABEL SQL CODE to get Flash patches:
select UID from KBSYS.PATCHLINK_PATCH where ((((  KBSYS.PATCHLINK_PATCH.IS_APP = '1') AND KBSYS.PATCHLINK_PATCH.TITLE rlike 'Flash') AND KBSYS.PATCHLINK_PATCH.IMPACTID = 'Critical') AND (1  in (select 1 from KBSYS.PATCHLINK_PACKAGE, KBSYS.PATCHLINK_PACKAGE_LANGUAGE_JT where PATCHLINK_PATCH.UID = PATCHLINK_PACKAGE.PATCHUID and PATCHLINK_PACKAGE_LANGUAGE_JT.FILENAME = PATCHLINK_PACKAGE.FILENAME and KBSYS.PATCHLINK_PACKAGE_LANGUAGE_JT.LANGUAGE_ID in (1,255,0) )) )

I believe I can get it working with a managed install, but then I need to update that install with the current flash version any time it changes. I'm hoping I can leave a Patch Schedule running that will grab new Flash versions and deploy without regular interaction.

Thanks!

Due to the delays in Flash updates getting from Adobe to Lumension and then to my KBox I have opted to do the manual update route. Yes, it's a pain, but I can get the latest version of Flash player out to clients much quicker. I'm just in the habit of download the MSI installers (we have a distribution license) and making the managed installs when necessary.

FYI, between the time you posted this yesterday and this morning Flash has already been updated again to 18.0.0.209.
