How do I start a service installed from my msi?
I packaged MSDE 2000 but the pc requires a restart to start the service.
How can I start this service at the end of the package installation instead of requiring a restart?

I think you can include an action to stop the service before installing. Look in the Services section of installation expert.

I figured out a way around this.
After the package installs the MSSQLSERVER service, just before the package is finished, I execute a 'net start MSSQLSERVER' command to start the service.
It works great.
