How to apply Patches from K1000 BOX which is not connected to the Internet

Hi

We are using two K1000 boxes in our company. One K1000 box (KBOX1) is connected to the Internet, Security patching is configured and working well in network environment.

Now Another K1000 box(KBOX2) we are using in isolated enviroment where internet access is not allowed on the Network. Software distribution is working fine on this K1000 box. Is there a way to pull out offline patches from the KBOX1 which has internet access and download it to KBOX2 so security patches availabe to machines in Isolated Environment.

Thank you

since you have two boxes, this is easy.
Here you can find the documentation:
https://www.kace.com/support/resources/kb/article/What-is-the-Offline-Update-Options-feature-used-?

in short:
Go to Settings->Patch Download and enable Offline patching.
On the KBOX1 you are downloading the patches
then you are downloading the patch file from the SMB share of the KBOX1 and upload it in the KBOX2
now you can use these patches in your isolated environment

please be aware, that you need to use patch labels for this functionality (no download as detected as missing possible)
You only be able to download it from the KBOX1 to the KBOX2 not vice versa!

  • Hi, I have tried this options on KBOX1(Offline Update - Online Source selected). I can see the patch share available bit no packages are getting downloaded. In Status it is keep showing failed. - raxit.patel 10 years ago
