How to create a desktop shortcut silently for MSI file

I tried the below command:
copy "P:\apps\XXX\XXX.exe" "c:\document and settings\all users\desktop"
On launching the desktop shortcut the application gets stopped.

  • So, the copy works but something is blocking the .exe? Application control of some sort? - rockhead44 9 years ago
  • 1, That's not a shortcut. You're copying the EXE to the desktop;
    2, Where's the MSI in this? - anonymous_9363 9 years ago
  • Do you want to create a desktop shortcut that silently installs an msi you have . You have Software Deployment as one of your Tags. Do you mean you have the msi on a share somewhere you created as an AI and you want some kind of entry point to it. Please offer more details - oreillyr 9 years ago
