How to delete registry/file from Merge module in WSI as it appears after compilation of wsi?

Need to delete registries coming from Merge module as those were common with other MSI's Merger module so need to delete it before i create MSI from WSI.

You should not delete them.. What happens if the end user does not have your other msi on his machine..

Infact, editing merge module is not a good practice..

  • I agree with Jag here on not deleting registries or files from Merge Module as they have been specifically compiled to have `em. - akki 12 years ago

Merge module components have the same component GUID, so if one of your application is installing the Registry, it will not install registry again as it will see that the component is already installed.

If you want to delete it for any other reason, however not recommended, you can delete it directly by editing MSI in ORCA.

Why not create a new merge module with the registry entries deleted?
