I was wondering if anyone has tried successfully to deploy Visual Studio 2012 without including SQL Express
We have been researching and testing a scripted install but haven’t been able to come up with a solution to remove SQL Express from Visual Studio prior to deploying. We have edited the .xml file using several different configurations without success.
Some of the workarounds include turning off the service with GP, and remove SQL instances (many) from Add/Remove programs. It would be a lot more streamlined and cleaner if we could just avoid installing it in the first place.
Thanks for any suggestions.
