IEAK9 not working - can't install the MSI
We're getting ready to do our image for 1,000 new machines this Summer, and instead of installing any browsers on the image, we plan on putting all browsers on as post-install MSI files since we can replace them easily and keep the images up to date with little tweaking. However, even before testing image deployment, I installed IE9 on a machine with IEAK9. I configured it how we want it, and it made a MSI inside of the FLAT folder. However, when I run the MSI, it loads briefly, then disappears. Nothing installs - I've tried it on multiple machines, and I'm lost since there isn't a lot of support on IEAK on the web.

Even i am facing same issue.
If i run windows updates then it works well.

I have installed the pre req for the target OS (windows 7 x64). However it crash the machine :(.
Still looking out .. I have even tried IEAK tool however it is not capturing the things .
I am looking into it and will keep you guys updated..

Check that it hasn't already been installed by your patching mechanism. (eg: WSUS).
Run the MSI without any /q switch when testing. Check the event logs. Put your command into a .bat file and run it from there using Run as admin.
Run the ieak again as what you created may be corrupted. Be sure that all the files are included with the package. Troubleshooting and documentation found here:

We aren't using WSUS - I had IE on the machine, completely uninstalled it....and tested running the MSI directly by double clicking it. I've also ran it from a batch file and same results. No idea - tested on several machines. Not sure whats going on. - sfigg 12 years ago

Did you reboot the system, you won't see any changes until you reboot.

What i usually do is try installing the MSI's with a /qb switch.
That way i can see if there's any errors.

You never answered if the eventlog or the verbose log give any errors/information?
