Installer error 1609
First I must apologize for my elementary english.
I have big unsolved problem.
When I try to Restore my PC with the 3 original factory CD, everything works OK, untill the 99% of the process. I get then an error #1609 code "lost cluster 1312305 - 1312305 " message, followed by a second message "error #983 Too many errors Process halted".
I have found: ERROR_INVALID_HANDLE_ STATE 1609 Handle is in an invalid state... ?!
The HD is OK (complete tests). I low formated it. Then formated it Linux, and then NTFS back. Everything in the machine has been thoroughly tested and is OK.
Even the 3 CD have been replaced by new ones with the same bad result concerning the installation.
Conversely, if I install XP from the original MS single CD, everythieng works fine.
It looks like the restoration of an image is impossible, but the simple installation is OK.
Just like the installer looks for "something" and does find it.
A boot viral attack ?
Ever heard about this ?
Any solution or clue ?
Thanks in advance.
