Installing a application & data in different paths?
Hey All,
I'm researching if the following situation is possible through usage of one or more MSI files.
- Application X has to be installed in a network path.
- The data of Application X is also installed on the network, but in a completely other path.
(For instance: Applation X is installed in P:\<application folder>, data is installed in P:\<groupname>\<application folder>\<data>)
I have already thought of using 2 Transform files on the same .MSI for a seperate installation of application and data. But is it possible to make usage of public properties for both application and data paths?
If that is possible, what steps do I take to create one MSI with 2 public properties? The part that I most interested in is how I use the properties in the MSI, I can figure out the rest myself hopefully.. ;)
TIA!
Paddy.
