Issues with WPS 5.5
Has anyone downloaded the Wise Package Studio 5.5 upgrade yet??
We did this last week and seemed to have found an issue with the application.
Ever since upgrading to 5.5 we can no longer change the application ICON within the Windows Installer Editor (even when creating a shortcut from srcatch! So all applications that you repackage end up having the standard MSI format icon. - Obviously this is not good!!
We have gone through the help and posted the question to Wise but as yet no response, Help states it should be changeable but either we have had an issues with the upgrade or alternatively there is an issue with the software.
Please anyone who is using WPS 5.50.0.330 if you could confirm or deny the above that would be great.
Thanks

Hi all,
Well after a number of discussions with Wise it has been confirmed that there is an issue when creating packages using snapsnot methodolgy; where by the application shortcuts cannot be changed from the default MSI icons.
They have passed the issue to the QA/Dev teams and expect a patch to be released within the next couple of weeks.
Will keep you posted if I hear any more......
Regards

There are several issues with 5.5 that have been resolved with the new WPS 5.51, available RIGHT NOW on the Wise Solutions site.
Here's a list of 5.51 fixes:
- Updated the database schema to support Windows Installer packages that contain more than 32,767 files.
- Fixed a problem that caused errors in Software Manager's Import wizard and reports when the computer's time zone was changed to a GMT+ region.
- Icons were not being extracted from .EXE or .DLL files correctly when advertised shortcuts were created. This has been fixed.
- During Group Distribution, if the path of the deployment wrapper .EXE was typed instead of selected by browsing, the wrapper script would not compile. This has been fixed.
- On a Wise Package Studio minimal client installation, the Select Data Source dialog in SetupCapture was appearing repeatedly. This has been fixed.
A Wise rep I talked to TODAY said they will have an MSP sometime soon, possibly the end of this week (Dec. 17th-ish.) Once available, you can just double-click it to upgrade your system. If you can't wait for the MSP to be released, however, you'll have to uninstall and reinstall. After uninstalling 5.5 from A/R Programs, reboot, kill the entire Wise Solutions keys in HKCU\Software and HKLM\Software and delete all of the Wise*.ini files in %windir%. Then, run the new 5.51 install EXE.
